Couldn't have come soon enough.
Ahhhh 2012 was pretty poopy but 2013... really took the cake.
I'm hoping this year I can get out of this house and into an art school, just somewhere more, ah, creative-friendly... I've noticed how much better I was emotionally/physically/creatively back when I was at Harding, and having to come back home's really taken a toll on me.
I've sort of grown art-wise? But I'm still unhappy with my style and lack of motivation. Over this past year I've started getting more and more anxious over my art and certain things have made me scared of even posting art. BUT I'm working on getting over it.
This past December I've had quite a few hard issues come up, one of them being that my aunt (who is like a grandmother to me and my sister) has untreatable brain cancer, and it's possible we could lose her within this next year. We also had a power outtage that killed off most of my pet fish, and then someone I went to camp with passed away. My mom also lost her job, and money's been really stressful on us. Overall it was a very rough year, and I'm very glad it's over.
I'm hoping this next year I can:
- Get a better job while I'm at home.
- Get into SCAD.
- Develop a style I like better.
- Overall feel better about myself.
- Develop my stories more so I can finally get anywhere with them.
- Figure out pixel art, anatomy, and coloring.
- Be a better person/friend.
- Learn to save my money better ":I
- Figure out how to price commissions better so i can open those again.
GOOD things that came from 2013:
- I got to hang out with one of the coolest kids I know.
- I bought myself a Wii U.
- Learned how to do watercolor! Something I really wanted to do.
- Got a nicer set of markers.
- Spent a good amount of time with my offline friends I didn't see as often before.
- Got a job. (Might not be a GOOD one, but it's still a job and it helps with my loans.)
There's probably more, but I can't really remember.
Hope 2014 treats us all better, and Happy New Year to everyone!
